For Students

SLi is for students

Student Leadership is all about students in action impacting their homes, schools and communities.

During SLi meeting times, students are active in impact groups called Campus Connections. Each of these Connections can be easily implemented at any school.

Campus Connections

girls_class.jpgStudent Ambassadors:
If want to be “FRONT AND CENTER” representing your school to your peers, new students and the community, you will be the ideal Student Ambassador! We have some exciting new initiatives in addition to some of the things Student Ambassadors have done in the past. The admissions office, this group will be the premier group of students to represent your school at events, with new students and serving in the community at various charity events.

C-3 Political Team:
Christians Confronting the Culture
If you are passionate about being a change force in the culture, then the C-3 Political Team is where you belong. This Campus Connection will challenge you to think critically about cultural issues and prepare you to engage the culture in a powerful and persuasive manner

6Th Grade Mentoring:
Can you imagine the excitement when you combine the energy of your campus pastor, 100 6th graders and YOU? Each session is designed for you to interact with the 6th grade students in a fun setting, yet with significant opportunities to be a role model to influence these younger students.

Special Needs Ministry:
This has always been a favorite ministry of students whose compassion for others leads them to serve families of children with Special Needs. This group has partnered with Prestonwood Baptist Church to offer a Parents Night Out for families with special needs children. The group will continue with Parents Night Out as well as branching out to other opportunities.

Hospitality Connection:
If you have the gift of gab, this may be your spot! Students in this Campus Connection will be asked to extend warm hospitality to visiting college representatives at lunch and activity period. This does not meet for regular Campus Connection sessions, you are called to serve as needed. If you sign up for Hospitality you are also able to sign up for another Campus Connection. You will be working under the direction of the Guidance Office.

REEL LIFE:
REEL LIFE is lead by the school theater teacher.. (And we all know that you don’t get more cool than that!) In this Campus Connection you will explore how to bridge the gap between Christian truth and the visual images of film, to see the impact of film on our culture. Students in REEL LIFE will explore ways to use their own unique gifts and talents to make a difference in the film industry.

two_guys.jpgDiversity:
Do you ever wonder why you stink at math, can’t draw a circle yet have a gift of drama or athletics??? Join in and be a part of the team to celebrate the unique gifts and talents God has given each of us. Become a part of the Diversity connection as we get involved in the planning various activities such as All School Worship and Sanctity of Life Week. Join us and learn why diversity is awesome!

Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT):
Coach Roach leads this campus connection of students who want to use athletics as a vehicle to serve others. Some of the opportunities are; acting as hosts to visiting teams and coaches, act as hosts to officials, act as hosts to game management officials.

PCA RECYCLES:
It is easy to be green, especially if you are in this connection lead by the science department. Students in this connection will be designing and implementing a campus wide recycling program. This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this connection and make a school wide impact.

Outreach to School Maintenance and Support Personnel:
This popular ministry, serves as an outreach to the school maintenance and support personnel with several events during the year. The group meets to plan appreciation events for the maintenance personnel and their families. As one student said, “It was so rewarding to plan FUN events for these men and women who work so hard.
